Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 20, 2026. How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Who we are
ChoiceIdentity is operated by Boltout LLC dba ChoiceIdentity, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, with a registered business address at 1309 Coffeen Avenue, STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. In this Privacy Policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Boltout LLC dba ChoiceIdentity. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash).
- Identity verification: legal name, date of birth, current mailing address, and your Social Security Number. The Social Security Number is forwarded to our credit-bureau API partner solely to verify your identity before we pull your own consumer report; we do not retain any portion of it — full or partial — in our own systems. Legal name, mailing address, and date of birth are retained on your profile because they are needed on every subsequent retrieval.
- Payment information: processed by our licensed payment processor. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank routing details on our own systems; we retain only a processor-issued reference token and the last four digits of the card for display and support.
- Messages you send us through support and contact forms.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and browser details, IP address, operating system.
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, session duration.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 8.
Information we receive from third parties
- Credit bureau data (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) retrieved through our licensed credit-bureau API partner when you request a credit score or report on your own behalf.
- Identity verification results (knowledge-based authentication outcomes) from that same partner.
- Payment confirmations and refund/dispute events from our payment processor.
3. How we use your information
- To create, maintain, and secure your account.
- To verify your identity before pulling your own credit or identity data on your behalf.
- To deliver the Service, including identity monitoring and 3-bureau credit reports.
- To process payments and manage your membership.
- To communicate with you about your account and the Service.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To comply with legal obligations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and applicable state law.
We use credit and identity information solely to serve the consumer who is the subject of that data. We do not use it, and do not permit any third party to use it, to make eligibility decisions of any kind on behalf of any third party.
4. How we share your information
We share personal information with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers operating under written contracts with us: our credit-bureau API partner (for identity verification and credit-report retrieval), our payment processor (for card/ACH processing and refund handling), our data-storage and authentication provider (Supabase), and our transactional email provider (Resend). These providers may use your information only to perform services for us and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
- Legal: when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of our members and the public.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected members.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. FCRA compliance
When you use ChoiceIdentity to access your credit information, you are exercising your right under the FCRA to obtain your own consumer report. We handle that information in accordance with FCRA requirements: we verify your identity before any pull, we record your consent with a time-stamp, and we retain and dispose of credit-bureau data in accordance with the retention rules of the bureau that provided it.
6. Data safeguarding
Your information is protected by:
- Encryption at rest (AES-256) and encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+).
- Row-level access controls on every record in our database.
- Audit logs on every administrative action.
- No raw credit report storage — only an encrypted, minimally-scoped summary and a bureau-issued reference token.
- Continuous monitoring for suspicious access patterns and rate-limiting on authentication endpoints.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to satisfy legal obligations (including any FCRA or tax record-keeping requirements). You may request deletion of your account and the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing support@choiceidentity.com. We will honor the request within thirty (30) days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your account. We may also use limited first-party analytics cookies to understand how members use the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to whom we disclose it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@choiceidentity.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice.
